Tutor Spotlight
Jon Miller, Master Academic Mentor
Jon has been teaching and tutoring for more than 14 years, in both one-on-one and classroom settings. He has taught English as a Foreign Language at EF School in Redondo Beach, working with young adults from all over the world. Previously, Jon worked as the program director for a non-profit K-3 rd grade school in L.A.'s inner city, helping disadvantaged immigrant children and their families get a head start in their new home. He earned his BA in psychology from the University of Houston and also has a California Designated Subjects Teaching Credential.
Jon is available for: AP English, AP Literature, AP History, SAT II Literature, French, Economics, Social Studies, Computer Science
Our Students
Most of our students attend elite junior high and high schools in and around Los Angeles, including Harvard Westlake, Marlborough, Brentwood, Marymount, Loyola, Windward, Archer School for Girls, Notre Dame Academy, Chadwick, Beverly Hills High, Palisades Charter High, Saing Matthews Parish School, and others.
Typically, students come to us because they are having difficulty in a single school subject, or they wish to prepare for a single standardized test.
More often than not, these short-term engagements develop into long-term relationships. Many students continue to work with us throughout their entire junior high and high school career. Some even return to us for a little help while in college.
